Nurses are highly predisposed to work-related stress due to their demanding responsibilities in patient management. Therefore, nurses’ burnouts relate to physical, mental, and emotional exhaustion, reduced self-efficacy, and depersonalization resulting in work and social life disengagement. Burnout syndrome causes negative consequences such as reduced work performance, absenteeism, and high nurse turnover rates. Burnouts also cause personal problems such as depression, anxiety, insomnia, and substance abuse among nurses.             In a cross-sectional descriptive study, Soósová (2021) focused on the “association between nurses’ burnout, hospital patient safety climate and quality of nursing care. In the study, 117 nurses and postgraduate students of specialized studies at the Faculty of Medicine of the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice completed the Copenhagen Burnout Inventory and the Hospital Survey on patient safety culture. I utilized the CINAHL and MEDLINE search engines for this research paper. I used ‘burnout among nurses’ as a key phrase to locate my articles. CINAHL showed about 20494 results, while MEDLINE showed 22160 results. I used limiters for peer-reviewed articles, date range (2018 to 2022), and full texts to obtain 12601 results for CINAHL and 13492 for MEDLINE. I also included the Boolean operators and multiple vital terms such as patient safety and work-life balance that aided me in narrowing the search results to 2970 for CINAHL and 4120 for MEDLINE.(Burnout in Healthcare Comprehensive Essay for Nursing Students)

I intend to refine my search limiters to increase the effectiveness and rigor of my database search results. For instance, I will use critical terms from my PICOT question, such as patient safety, work-life balance, or work-life interference, to narrow my research search to the desirable articles.
