Week 8Practice Readiness in Leading Future Change
Discussion
Purpose
The purpose of this discussion is to reflect on your own readiness to practice as a DNP-prepared nurse and consider what you learned in this course and how this knowledge will impact your practice.
Instructions
All students respond to Part 1 and Part 2 every week. Students who are implementing respond to Part 2—Implementing. Students who are conducting a case study respond to Part 2—Case Study.
Part 1: All Students
Each week you have been reminded that reflective inquiry allows for expansion of self-awareness, identification of knowledge gaps, and assessment of learning goals. As you reflect on your own readiness to practice as a DNP-prepared nurse, it is important to consider what you learned in this course.
As you review the course outcomes and your experience in this course, address the following in 150 words or less:
- Analyze and evaluate how your thinking and professional practice was challenged in this course related to translation science and implementing a practice change project in a complex healthcare or community environment.
- Considering this new knowledge, examine how this learning prepares you to practice as a DNP-prepared nurse.
Part 2: Students Implementing at the Practicum Site
For this week’s implementation update, address the following:
- State your practice question in PICOT format and include the week # for your implementation.
- List the date(s) you will collect your final outcome data as well as the implementation week for the last data collection.
- List the total number of participants or your total sample numbers pre-implementation and post-implementation.
- Briefly describe your plan for sustaining the practice change and the roles of the stakeholders who take over as the project leads or champions after you complete project implementation.
Note: Robust responses are required to fulfill the Case Study requirements. Use the numbered points provided as headings.
