Purpose
The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of the accreditation process and the importance of this process in ensuring an organization’s program meets the necessary quality standards.
Instructions
For this assignment, you will select an accrediting body and provide a detailed description of the accrediting body that includes mission and purpose. You will further describe the process an organization will go through to become accredited with this agency or retain an accreditation previously earned.
Your paper should include the following heading and information:
- Cover page to include
- Title of the paper
- Student name
- Chamberlain University College of Nursing
- Course number and course name
- Session month and year
- Introduction
- Introduce the paper’s main theme addressing the importance of the topic.
- Provide a clear purpose statement
- Provide the reader with a brief and defining statement of what will be discussed in the paper.
- Organization and Accrediting Body
- Describe the type of organization that is seeking accreditation.
- Select an accrediting body and identify why this body was selected.
- Explain the mission and purpose.
- Explain the driving forces behind why accreditation is important.
- Determine the impact of accreditation on funding sources for the organization.
- Estimate the impact of accreditation on the public and other institutions interfacing with this organization.

- State the length of time the organization will retain the accreditation.

- In one or two concise paragraphs, provide a clear and logical conclusion.

- Ensure each reference has a matching citation.
- Support your position and the role of the nurse educator as the facilitator of learning by using evidence from at least three (3) scholarly, peer-reviewed journal sources (preferably research or systematic reviews) that are retrieved from the Chamberlain library databases. Do not use textbooks, government sources, or organizational websites for the three sources in this assignment.
